What Deeply Unreliable Car Is Worth The Headache?

As car enthusiasts, we do not always make the most rational decisions when it comes to buying a new vehicle. Things like practicality and reliability mean a lot to the average consumer, but for us, we can look past that sort of that scares normal folks away. That theory is what got me thinking about today’s question.

I want to know what unreliable car you think is worth the headache. What vehicle, that is famously a nightmare to own, is so great otherwise that you’d turn the other cheek to the fact it would ruin your life? We all have a car like that. I promise it doesn’t need to be exotic! Any old or new car will do.

In fact, I’ve got my own deeply unreliable car that is worth the headache: my 2007 BMW Z4 3.0SI with a six-speed manual. Since I bought it in 2020, it has been hideously unreliable. I’ve replaced the cooling system, the Vanos and the clutch. I’ve spent nearly as much on fixes and maintenance as I did to buy the car. (Luckily it has appreciated somewhat since I bought it, so I got that going for me.) It has truly been a nightmare to own, and yet every time I drive it I am reminded why I bought it: it’s fucking great.

Anyway, that’s enough of me yapping. How about you folks drop down below and let your fellow Jalops know what unreliable car is worth the headache?
