What Car Do You Regret Selling?

Pretty much all of us have bought and sold cars in the past, and for the most part, I’m sure there wasn’t a terrible amount of second-guessing when it comes to what you’ve sold. Unfortunately that’s not always the case, and that is what has led us to today’s question (mostly because I’m waffling about selling my car).

I want to know if you folks have ever regretted selling a car, and if so, what was it and why? What seemed like a good idea at the time but you slowly realized you made a huge mistake? It can be for any reason, really. Do you regret selling it because all of the memories of the car came flooding back a while later? Maybe it’s because the car you replaced it with is a turd. Perhaps you just miss a part of your life that the car represented. I don’t know, guys. It’s up to you!

I’m asking this because I’m at the very beginning of the process of selling my car, and I’ve been going back and forth a lot. On one hand, it’s always a little bit broken and I never get to drive it. Living in New York City and having a job I’m very lucky to have means I’ve only put about 500 miles on the car in the last year. I also could always use the money it would bring if I sold it — more than what I paid, hopefully. On the other hand, every single time I drive it, it’s a really fun time and I fall in love with it all over again. The smart person would certainly sell the car and pocket the money. Now is the time to decide if I’m a smart person or not.

Anyway, that’s enough yapping out of me. Why don’t you all head on down below and let your fellow Jalops know what car you most regret selling?
