Three people were seriously injured in separate collisions across the city over a 24-hour span.

In the first incident, Toronto Police say officers received a call for a collision in Forest Hill – near Strathearn Rd. and Bathurst St. – around 7:20 a.m. on Friday.

It is reported that a white cargo van was travelling east on Strathearn Rd. and made a right turn to go south on Bathurst St. A pedestrian was crossing from the south curb to the north, on the west side of Bathurst St., when she was struck by the vehicle.
Police say the pedestrian, an 80-year-old woman, was taken to hospital with major life-altering injuries.
Approximately 90 minutes later, cops responded to a collision involving a child and a tractor trailer on Albion Rd. at Elmhurst Dr. in Rexdale.

It is reported that the tractor trailer was travelling north on Albion Rd. at the intersection of Elmhurst Dr. An 11-year-old boy was on the east side of Albion Rd., near the north crosswalk, and began to cross westbound.

Investigators say the boy was struck by the tractor trailer. He was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition.
The driver remained at the scene, cops added.
Less than 24 hours later, a third person was injured in Scarborough.
Police say officers responded to a report of a personal injury collision involving a vehicle in the area of Tapscott Rd. and McLevin Ave. just before 7 a.m. Saturday.

It is reported that a 2024 Hyundai Tucson was travelling south on Tapscott Rd. at a high rate of speed. For unknown reasons, the vehicle mounted the west curb and left the roadway.
Cops say the vehicle continued to travel in a southerly direction, striking a concrete pole and colliding with a railway barrier. The driver was taken to the hospital and suffered life-threatening injuries.
Police are asking local residents, businesses, and drivers who may have security or dash camera footage of any of these incidents to contact investigators.
