The 55-year-old Turlington called it a “rude” heckling tactic by the teens.

“I was surprised it hadn’t happened sooner,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “But at the same time, I was like, ‘This is so rude!’”

Turlington, who sat down for an interview as part of her 14th cover appearance for the magazine, said once the school got involved it turned into a “bigger thing.”

“All I wanted to do was disappear,” she said, adding that she also doesn’t have any regrets.

“I don’t feel embarrassed about anything,” she said. “Regretting things is a waste of time.”

Meanwhile, Turlington revealed she doesn’t read social media comments directed at her.

“I don’t have my comments on,” she said. “My daughter told me to do that a couple years ago. I’m really happy that I don’t (have to see the comments). I can’t say that I’m Teflon. I’m sure if I did read something that was pointed or mean, it would hurt me in the same way. But I also try not to give that much attention to any of it.”

The veteran model, who has daughter Grace, born in 2003, and son Finn, born in 2006, with actor and filmmaker Ed Burns, says she still works but is picky about the jobs she takes.

“I can do a day here and there. But then, two days, I’m like, ‘Too much. It’s too much.’”
