He gave no indication of the nature of the procedure.

“Hi guys, due to unforeseen circumstances I’m afraid I have to postpone this weekend’s shows at Thornbury Theatre and West Gippsland Arts Centre,” he said on Instagram.

“I’m so sorry to do this but I had to undergo an emergency procedure yesterday that now prevents me from travelling for the next few days.

“Huge apologies again everyone but I look forward to seeing you all at the rescheduled shows soon!”

Fans have sent well wishes to the singer.

“Get well soon Shannon! Take the time you need to recover,” one said.

“Oh no Shannon I hope you’re ok! Take all the time you need, health is everything!” wrote a second.

Another said: “Shattered. Hope you’re all OK though.”

Noll was expected to take to the stage on Friday night at Thornbury Theatre in Melbourne.

On Saturday night, he was set to perform at West Gippsland Arts Centre, Warragul.

The singer first came to prominence as runner-up to Guy Sebastian on the inaugural Australian Idol in 2003.

In the two decades since, he’s become one of Idol’s most successful artists, releasing five Top 10 albums, including two number-one multi-platinum sellers, and winning five ARIA No. 1 chart awards.

His debut release, What About Me, became the highest-selling single of 2004 in Australia.

Noll has recently been touring across Australia, having announced the That’s What I’m Talking About shows in February.
