MFs: Local MFs tighten equity AUM grip further, close in on FPIs

The equity value of the total institutional funds in India was ₹172 lakh crore, accounting for nearly 45% of the total market capitalisation of the country.

In the last five years, the share of local funds rose by more than 500 basis points, aided by an investment of ₹5.3 lakh crore compared with ₹3.1 lakh crore poured by foreign portfolio investors.
