Megan, Duchess of Sussex fears ‘losing control’ over Prince Harry amid royals cancer crisis

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex is reportedly terrified her husband Prince Harry might head back into the fold of the royal family as his father and sister-in-law both battle cancer.

The couple stepped down from royal duties and moved to the United States in 2020.

Since then, the geographical and emotional distance between Harry and Meghan and the rest of the royals has remained vast.

But with King Charles, and Catherine, Princess of Wales, now both in treatment for cancer, there is speculation that Harry might want to return home.

And that, according to one source, has Meghan worried.

“It would never bother Meghan if she didn’t see William and Kate again and sadly she knows there is no relationship between her children and George, Charlotte and Louis,” a source close to the Sussexes told OK! magazine.

The source claimed Meghan wanted her children to get to know Catherine and William’s children, but the Wales family “don’t want it”.

“(Meghan) knows deep down that Harry wants to fix the relationship and the Kate news has made him more determined to try and do it.

“But she thinks Harry is being naïve and that he still can’t trust William.

“She’s terrified he’ll be made a fool of again and William will use him.

“She knows she makes better decisions than Harry as she won’t let her emotions rule her, but she fears she’s losing control over this situation.”

However, some royal experts contest the idea that Catherine and William have not been open to the idea of a reconciliation between the former royal “Fantastic Four”.

Royal author Tom Quinn claims Catherine and William had suggested Harry and Meghan fly over to the UK so they could spend time together, but Meghan’s response had been: “No way.”

“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” Quinn said.

“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”

However, it is likely that Harry, at least, will return to the UK in May for the Invictus Games.

“If he decides not to come, it will take some explaining. Because everyone will assume it’s because he doesn’t want the awkwardness of having to meet his brother, or having to choose not to meet him,” Quinn added.

According to The Times of London, Harry and Meghan found out about Catherine’s cancer diagnosis on TV, along with the rest of the world.

A family source told the publication that the California-based pair were “left out of any details regarding Kate’s diagnosis”.

“There is clearly no trust,” the source said.

“It speaks volumes that Harry and Meghan learnt of the diagnosis from the news,” royal historian Richard Fitzwilliams later told TIME Magazine.

“The brothers reportedly haven’t been in contact for months and trust has completely broken down.”

As for his father Charles’ diagnosis, it’s understood that the King telephoned his estranged son to let him know the news straight away.

Harry immediately jumped on a plane for a brief visit to see his father.

“Look, I love my family,” Harry told Good Morning America correspondent Will Reeve during an Invictus Games promotional event after the world learned of Charles’ cancer.

“The fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I’m grateful for that.”
