McDonald’s drops all new dessert item – and it’s here to stay

McDonald’s has confirmed the release of an all-new dessert item to its McCafe menu across Australia.

From Wednesday, May 29, Macca’s will sell McPops — soft, squishy doughnut balls filled with gooey fillings and dusted with powdered sugar or cocoa.

There are three flavours to choose from — Chocolate, Berry and Biscoff — and they are available for $1.50 each or $2.50 for two with the purchase of any McCafé drink.

“McPops are a fun and affordable snack, brimming with warm sweetness, that we expect our customers are going to love,” McDonald’s Australia Marketing Manager Lancy Huynh said.

“Pairing perfectly with our McCafé barista-made coffee, they’re a delectable bite-sized treat that will make your morning or afternoon pick-me-up that little bit sweeter.

“We’ve got three flavours, so make sure you pop in and try them all.”

McPops will be available in Australia at McCafés nationwide, including via drive-thru, the MyMacca’s app and McDelivery from Wednesday, May 29, and joins the permanent McCafé menu.

What are McPops?

McPops first launched in 2018 in McCafé Spain and is now available in McCafes in selected countries across the globe.

There are three varieties to choose from:

Choc McPop — mini cocoa donut with chocolate filling, dusted with cocoa

Berry McPop — mini pink donut with red berry filling, dusted with sugar

Biscoff McPop — mini donut with Biscoff filling, dusted with sugar
