Tyler Boebert was arrested Tuesday for a string of vehicle break-ins against his mother’s constituents. The Rifle Police Department took the 18-year-old son of Representative Lauren Boebert into custody and levied a laundry list of charges. This is the latest episode in Boebert’s tumultuous family life, a reason she cited behind her move to run Colorado’s 4th Congressional District in this upcoming election. She is already far from the favorite to win the seat, finishing fifth in a straw poll last month. I don’t think her son robbing voters in her current district is going to help numbers.

Tyler Boebert is facing four felony counts of criminal possession of identification documents and a felony count of conspiracy to commit a felony. the Daily Beast reports that Boebert is facing 15 other misdemeanor charges related to the thefts. This isn’t his first brush with the law. In September 2022, Boebert crashed his father’s SUV, flipping the vehicle into a creek bed. Noble D’Amato, a passenger, suffered multiple concussions and a severely lacerated hand in the crash.

D’Amato claims that Lauren Boebert attempted to cover up the crash. According to the Independent, Tyler was initially issued a ticket for careless driving causing bodily injury. The ticket was downgraded to a ticket for a defective vehicle for headlights after he took a plea deal.

Last month, Jayson Boebert was arrested for allegedly assaulting his son Tyler. Jayson had claimed days before that his congresswoman ex-wife had punched him repeatedly at a Colorado restaurant. Lauren Boebert had already filed a restraining order against her ex-husband. This is all after Lauren got kicked out of a performance of the “Beetlejuice” musical in Denver over vaping and getting inappropriate with a date. I’m surprised that she has time to pretend to do her job in Congress.
