‘Kitchener called game’: Basketball world reacts to Jamal Murray’s absurd buzzer-beater

If there’s one player in the NBA that lives for the moment, it’s Jamal Murray.

The Denver Nuggets star guard loves the spotlight. From his iconic performances in the bubble to his efforts in the championship run last season, Murray has proven time and time again that he’s the type of player who blooms when the lights are brightest.

Inconsistent at times (when the stakes don’t feel as high), Murray showcased both sides of himself in an instant classic thriller against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 2 of their first round series.

If you stopped watching after the third quarter, you would’ve said to yourself that Murray had one of the worst playoff games of his career. Before the frame started, he had six points on a brutal 3-for-16 from the field.

“Just keep shooting,” his teammates told him. So that’s what he did, scoring 14 points in the final frame and most importantly, hitting one of the best baskets of the year on a wicked fall-away shot over Anthony Davis to sink the Lakers at the buzzer and complete an absurd 20-point comeback.

“I’m a little light-headed right now,” Murray told the Inside the NBA crew on TNT after the game.

Usually, that’s what the Denver air does to players, but apparently knocking down a shot that ridiculous can have the same effect.

It certainly had that effect on X users, sending the basketball world into a frenzy following the ridiculous day of NBA action.

Here are the best reactions to Murray’s unforgettable game-winner.
