Julie Bishop dazzles with White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge at glamorous event

Julie Bishop has met her fair share of prominent people, but on Thursday night she met genuine Hollywood royalty at a party in Sydney.

Bishop was at a charity dinner at Carriageworks for The Sapphire Project, in support of ocean conservation in Australia, when she managed to get a cosy-looking photo with White Lotus star Jennifer Coolidge.

The 61-year-old White Lotus star and Bishop, 66, looked equally fabulous in the snap, where they posed with arms around each other.

Bishop captioned the photo, shared on her Instagram, “A season of White Lotus in Sydney?”, adding a starry-eyed emoji.

Bishop wore a dramatic long gown adorned with silver paillettes by Australian brand Meraki, while Coolidge wore a slinky black dress with silver embellishments around the neck.

Both had perfectly coiffed blonde hair – Bishop’s short and textured, Coolidge’s long and wavy.

Coolidge is in Australia for the Vivid Sydney 2023 festival along with White Lotus creator and director Mike White.

Back in April, she excitedly announced on social media that she was coming to Australia.

“Hey Australia, it’s Jennifer Coolidge and I just got really exciting news,” she said in a video posted to Instagram and TikTok.

Vivid director Gill Minervini said at the time that festival organisers were thrilled to share that The White Lotus creator and star would be joining this year’s line-up.

“Securing these huge megastars cements Vivid Sydney 2023 as the biggest and most culturally relevant program yet,” Minervini said.

Coolidge and White will hold an “in-conversation” event, chatting to Australian author Benjamin Law on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Bishop continues to pepper her social media account with pictures of attendances at high-profile events.

On Thursday, she posted from a Vivid event wearing an embellished cape and tailored black pants.

In one photo, she posed alongside Farmer Wants a Wife host Sam Armytage, captioning the photo: “What a night @crownsydney.”

Followers loved her dramatic outfit for the occasion.

“Looking fabulous and I love your outfit,” one follower wrote.

“You’re a Queen Julie! Keep on living your best life!” said another.

“Boy, no one gets about as much as you Julie, I don’t know how you do it, enjoy!” wrote a third.

While Bishop is often keen to promote and wear Australian designers, she is also fond of international luxury designers.

Last month, she posted images of herself viewing items from Louis Vuitton in Perth.

“I could wear my Louis Vuitton,” she captioned the post, quoting lyrics from the Meghan Trainor song Made U Look.

In the pictures, Bishop, wearing a black top with shoulder cut-outs and slim-fit black pants, peruses jewellery and handbags.

“Love LV! My oldest handbag of 14 years still going,” one follower wrote.

“I think we need to make you a ‘friends of the family’ ambassador for LV,” joked another.
