Marabou chocolates are owned by Mondelez International.

An exact date for the product’s disappearance has not been confirmed.

An IKEA spokesperson said the brand “has for some years been focusing on IKEA-branded confectionary products”.

IKEA will further develop its own branded chocolate and candy products, the spokesperson said.

“The current IKEA range includes some different chocolate products from suppliers owned by Mondelez,” the spokesperson said. “The decision to phase out those products is a part of the long-term focus on IKEA-branded confectionary products.”

IKEA states on its website that its snack range is “all produced responsibly” and is “UTZ certified”, meaning ingredients are sustainably farmed and workers have fair conditions.

Mondelez also owns brands such as Kraft, Belvita, Oreo, Cadbury, Toblerone and Green & Blacks.
