Glasgow singer given ‘life-changing’ money by Post Malone shares update

A Glasgow singer who was given money for a house deposit by Post Malone has updated followers on his big move.

Gregor Hunter Coleman was playing at Wunderbar in the city centre when he was called over to meet the US singer and rapper following his gig at the Hydro in May 2023.

After praising his “amazing” performance, Post asked Gregor how much he would charge to play at his afterparty.

Gregor said he would happily do it for free and politely declined the offer of a beer as he was “off the drink” to save up for a house, leading the rapper to insist on giving him money to help towards his goal.

A year on, Gregor has revealed that he is now officially a homeowner after Post followed through on his promise.

He told followers how a hiccup with his bank details almost cost him £10,000.

He explained: “I was nervous sitting next to Post Malone so put one of my details in wrong. So after about two months of me checking my bank every day and it still wasn’t through.

“I messaged his manager and right enough I’d put a digit in wrong, so he ended up sending us a cheque.

“He said he’d give us ten grand and after all the fees came off we got it. It came in two days before we needed to show proof.”

Alongside pictures of him with keys to his new home and in the back of a removal van, he said: “I never did a follow up on this, we are now in and settled and still think about this crazy story every day.”

He also shared a screenshot of a conversation with Post Malone’s team who he thanked for “keeping their word”.

Writing in the comments, he added: “It honestly couldn’t have all happened at a more perfect time! I had my head screwed on and was so set in not drinking/partying until we had our wee house.”
