Fitness expert’s 4 simple exercises for women over 50 to stay in shape | UK | News

A fitness expert has shared four simple exercises for women over 50 to help them in stay in shape.

While staying fit and healthy is crucial, those above 50 often find it difficult to perform high-intensity exercise.

A fitness expert @nikiwibrowfitness has come up with four easy ways to help people stay fit and she has shared the moves on TikTok.

The exercises focus on strengthening the core, upper body and the lower body, including thighs and hips.

Below are her four tips:

1. Narrow Press Kick Ups

The weight-bearing exercise helps to strengthen the upper body.

Just press your upper body to the ground and then lift the lower body to make a cyclic movement.

Repeat each exercise three times for 15 minutes.

2.Wide Kick Out to Boat

Widen your legs in and out to strengthen the hips, thighs and core.

While doing the exercise, keep your hands straight to give them a bit of a stretch.

3. Bridge variation

To perform this, first lie down on your back and place your foot on the mat.

Now, move your one hand straight up and lift the other leg. Keep moving the leg up and down while placing the hand straight in the air.

The exercise will strengthen and stabilise the joints.

4. Swing to Crunch

This is an extremely helpful exercise as it builds strength in the upper body and core.

Engage your core and lift your hips up toward the sky, keeping your legs straight. While keeping your hips up, slowly move your legs inside and towards the opposite direction.

Social media users applauded the fitness expert as they found the exercises doable.

One commented: “I agree especially these upper and lower body exercises are super important. Weight bearing all the way.”

Another said: “Now these I could actually do, unlike those videos that are way too difficult for me. Well done!”
