Waiting in the Ticketek lounge for Olivia Rodrigo … it’s a good idea, right?
Some fans are not so sure after claiming they have been kicked off the site with “Access Denied” messages.

Sale for Sydney and Melbourne tickets to Rodrigo’s Guts tour, which is coming to Australia in October 2024, went on sale at 1pm and chaos was quick to erupt.
Ticketek has responded after fans online reported that they experienced a similar problem during the pre-sale on Wednesday.
“Today‘s on sale for the fourth Sydney Show for Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour proceeded without issue,” a spokesperson for Ticketek told 7NEWS.com.au.
“Demand was incredibly high, and tickets have sold strongly for all four shows in Sydney.
“We encourage all customers not to use multiple browsers when trying to access tickets. Our systems are designed to prevent and block access from bots, and customers attempting to access the site with multiple browsers may be flagged by our bot prevention service.
“We are confident that these rules we have in place protect the real fans and allow them access and opportunity to purchase tickets to their favourite events.”
But the statement is at odds with fans sharing their frustration online along screenshots of an “Access Denied” page.
“I tried on three devices and after waiting 30 min or so in the holding site, all my screens were given the Access Denied message.”
Others experiencing a similar problem took to X, formerly Twitter, to vent their frustration.
“Two days in a row Ticketek you’re a multi-million dollar company which 95 per cent of its sales go through online transactions yet you still can’t manage to run a website that actually works,” one said.
“I would prefer being told I’m 1,000,000 in the queue on a Ticketmaster page than sit and look at a mind-numbing screen showing a Ticketek logo with a pinch of access denied I’m so serious,” a second said.
“Access Denied? LET ME INNN,” added a third.
Ticketek responded to one fan who tweeted: “It’s coming up with Access denied for me, fix your site ffs.”
A spokesperson online responded: “Please remember to only use one Ticketek browser when purchasing tickets. If you are still seeing this message clear your browser cache, try using a different browser and ensure you are not using a VPN”.
A similar issue occurred in 2023 when fans experienced troubles securing tickets for Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour.
The upcoming tour is set to be Rodrigo’s first-ever run of shows in Asia and Australia.
