Xbox Game Pass Core subscribers can play a boatload of sports games for free, but only for the weekend. Electronic Arts and Microsoft have teamed up to give fans the chance to play EA Sports FC 24, Madden NFL 24, NHL 24, F1 23, EA Sports PGA Tour, Super Mega Baseball and EA Sports WRC for free. The limited time giveaway is available until the morning of January 15, so you don’t have long to take advantage of the offer.

Fans can install the games by signing into their Xbox accounts and visiting the storepage.

Microsoft explains more: “Clicking through will send you to the Microsoft Store, where you must be signed in to see the option to install with your Xbox Game Pass Core or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

“To download on console, click on the Subscriptions tab in the Xbox Store and navigate down to the Free Play Days collection on your Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.”

EA Sports FC 24 is arguably the pick of the bunch, offering a realistic take on the beautiful game.

“Moves, looks, and plays like football. EA SPORTS FC 24 brings you closer to football than ever before, powered by a trinity of technologies driving gameplay realism in every match,” reads the official description.

If you want to continue playing after the free trial period comes to an end, then Microsoft will be offering discounts on the EA games.

Likewise, all of your in-game progress and Achievements will carry over should you decide to purchase in full.

Speaking of free games, Epic Games Store customers can grab a free copy of Sail Forth. Available to download and keep, Sail Forth is free until the afternoon of January 18.

“Sail a fleet of customisable ships across an ocean whose ancient depths have swallowed the key to the mysterious past.

“Befriend fishfolk to expand your boat crews, take up arms against petulant pirates, and chart a course across an expansive watery world.”
