Channel 7 Farmer Wants A Wife:

Emotions were at a fever pitch on Tuesday night’s episode of Farmer Wants A Wife after the farmers’ ladies were asked to design their dream date.

The ladies wrote their date suggestions down anonymously, and each farmer picked the idea they liked most, not knowing whose idea it was.

Over on Bert’s farm, it was 27-year-old midwife Brooke’s date idea, which included getting creative with a bit of outdoor painting, that the farmer chose, knowing it would take him out of his comfort zone.

During their date, Brooke opened up to Bert about why she started painting, telling him about a not-so-good time in her life when she was very ill, losing the ability to speak or walk.

“I couldn’t use the left side of my body and (painting) was part of learning how to do those things again,” she explained.

“It was pretty intense.

“I thought that was it for me … but she lives on to finger paint.”

The pair seemed to have a great time and Brooke said she was feeling “elated” — until they got back to the farm and Karli pulled a bold move.

Bert and Brooke had barely finished showing the others the painting they had done together when Karli cut in and asked Bert to go outside with him.

Bert followed, and there, Karli had prepared her own date with him, which pulled him away from all the other ladies and made for a blunt ending to his day with Brooke.

The ladies watched as Bert walked outside with Karli, her arm wrapped around his waist.

“She might be hijacking the end of your date,” Taneil noted.

Outside, Karli was busy blindfolding Bert and feeding him different foods.

He didn’t seem to mind, and Brooke watched from the window, clearly bothered by what she saw.

“I feel like some games were being played and I didn’t want a part of that,” she said in a to-camera interview.

“I’m feeling a little bit vulnerable right now and a bit hurt.”

Back in the kitchen, Taneil and Caitlin watched the drama unfold.

“Hard to play the game when you don’t know the rules,” Taneil observed.

“There’s no rules, honey,” Caitlin said.

“There are no rules and it’s anyone’s game.”

“Hmmm, didn’t get that memo,” Taneil said, raising her eyebrows.

“I wonder how that’s made Brooke feel, though?”

“When things like this happen, it just makes you question whether you should have let your guard down,” Brooke said in her to-camera interview.

“I don’t care what Karli was trying to do, and I have nothing nice to say.

“It took a lot of courage today from me to tell Bert some of my story, and I think I’m quite a strong person to get through that, and then to be confronted with what I was after I came home, it was hard.”

Bert found Brooke in her bedroom, crying, later admitting that what had happened with Karli must have “stung a little bit” for Brooke.

He tried to console Brooke as she cried, telling her he just wanted everyone to be having a good time.

“It takes a lot for me to actually cry about something,” she said.

“For someone to make me feel this way is … yeah … honestly, I don’t want to talk about it, because I had the best day.”

“Good, so did I,” Bert responded.

“And I’m sorry it ended like this.”

Farmer Wants a Wife continues Sunday 7pm on Channel 7 and 7plus.
