Bride sparks fury after asking maid of honour to ‘steal’ school supplies at her workplace for her wedding

A bride-to-be has shocked the internet after asking her maid of honour a very strange request.

The bride had asked her maid of honour, who works as a teacher, to take school supplies from her workplace so she could use them to entertain the kids at her wedding.

But she found herself in a pickle after her friend refused to take the items, such as colouring sheets and crayons, from her school.

In a social media post, the bride asked for advice on what to do.

“Be honest and tell me if I don’t have a right to be a little upset here,” the bride said.

She said she was trying to make the wedding affordable for her bridal party, and was already covering most of the costs because she felt bad asking her friends to pay for things.

‘The only thing they paid for were their dresses which were $100,’ the bride said. Stock image‘The only thing they paid for were their dresses which were $100,’ the bride said. Stock image

“The only thing they paid for were their dresses, which were $100,” the bride said.

The bride explained she had a lot of children attending her wedding, so she expected her maid of honour to do her a favour by grabbing some school supplies.

“I thought she could set up a small table with pencil crayons, some blank paper and maybe some colouring sheets that she can photocopy at work,” the bride said.

“I know at her school she doesn’t pay for any of the supplies because I worked with her.”

After she put the request to her maid of honour, the bride says her friend responded by suggesting the bride simply buy the items.

The bride was disgruntled with the response, believing the “least her maid of honour could do was grab school supplies that wouldn’t cost her anything”.

The bride explained she thought her maid of honour could take one small thing off her plate, as she has been stressed planning the bridal shower and the wedding.

The woman finished her post by saying: “Can I ask what your maid of honour is doing and paying for?”

Well, the bride didn’t quite receive the response she was expecting and deleted the post within 20 minutes of posting it.

However, it was later re-shared in a wedding shaming Facebook group — with many furious at the bride for suggesting her maid of honour “risk getting fired from her job” just so she could save some money.

“That would be stealing from the school,” said one.

“You cannot ask people to steal stuff from their workplace for your wedding. LMFAO,” added another.

A third wrote: “I’m a teacher at a well-supplied school (which I’m blessed and thankful for every single day). I’d laugh outright at this bride. Why?

“Because I sure as hell am not risking getting fired for stealing from my job. For anyone or any purpose. Including setting up a kids’ entertainment area at a wedding.”

“Wait, she asked her because she is a teacher and thought she would steal from the school for her friend? Omg. What a horrible person!” added another.
