AFL goalkicking champion Brendan Fevola nailed a kick from the boundary line to raise money for the Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal during half time of North Melbourne’s clash with Carlton on Friday.
Carlton hall of famer Fevola, along with fellow retired AFL player Daniel Harris, who played 149 games for North Melbourne plus 11 for Gold Coast, teamed up to compete in the Kick 4 The Kids.

The past greats of the two competing clubs in the annual Good Friday match had a set of targets to hit to score money for the Appeal.
“Obviously a great cause, great day … we’re doing it for the kids,” Fevola said.
And while Fevola was uncharacteristically wayward in the first part of the challenge, he brought out his mercurial best for what was next.
Seven thousand dollars was on offer if either Fevola or Harris could snap a goal from the boundary line in the pocket at Marvel Stadium.
As though he hadn’t missed a beat since his AFL retirement in 2011, 43-year-old Fevola kicked a perfect snap around his body to curl in a freakish goal.
And the crowd erupted around him.
“Of course he kicked it! He was always going to kick it!” Luke Darcy said.
The famously confident AFL player-turned-radio personality couldn’t help himself but give a cheeky comment after the kick.
“(I) nailed the one that mattered, mate,” a giddy Fevola whispered in Matthew Richardson’s ear.
Harris and Fevola raised $15,000 in total for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
McDonald’s also donated $50,000 to the Good Friday Appeal during the match.
