Zooey Deschanel’s Engagement Manicure Is as Playful as Her Ring — See Photos

When someone gets engaged, most folks want to see the ring first. Though we do enjoy admiring jewelry, we’re usually even more excited to look at the engagement manicures. And right now, our eyes are locked on Zooey Deschanel‘s pretty-in-pink engagement manicure that’s so easy to recreate.

On August 14, Deschanel shared the exciting news of her engagement with an Instagram post featuring her and now-fiancé Jonathan Scott from the Property Brothers franchise, smiling while showing off her engagement ring and monochromatic manicure. Her short nails were filed into a slightly rounded square shape.

A baby-pink nail polish was painted on her thumb, middle, and ring fingernails, whereas her index and pinky nails were more of a Barbie-pink hue. We love that this manicure is colorful and has more than one nail color because it’s more exciting than your standard everyday manicure. But it’s still easy to recreate and doesn’t require extra tools like some other nail-art designs.

Deschanel hasn’t revealed the exact nail shades (unsurprisingly, given that she is likely preoccupied with more important things, like her future nuptials), but we have a few recommendations in a similar fashion. For the baby-pink color, we suggest Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Pink Smart or Essie Nail Polish in Fiji. Zoya’s Nail Polish in Dacey and OPI’s Nail Lacquer in Telenovela Me About It are great options for the hot-pink shade.
