Zara Tindall’s five elegant and chic wardrobe essentials | Royal | News

Zara Tindall’s style has evolved quite a lot through the years with increasingly more royal fans anticipating her next appearance.

Princess Anne’s daughter never fails to impress as she always looks polished, whether she is in a formal or casual setting with her.

Known for her bubbly personality, the 43-year-old’s fun-loving nature can also be spotted in her sartorial choices.

From bright pops of colour to interesting headpieces, the royal’s fashion choices have something for everyone to take inspiration from and imitate classic royal style.

Here, The Express takes a look at five of Zara’s wardrobe essentials as Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at online fashion destination SilkFred, analyses her style.

According to Ms Watkins, Zara is a “big fan” of the shirt or collared dress and has been pictured wearing one several times.

This particular style choice is said to “embody” Zara’s ‘signature’ style which mixes feminity and masculinity.

The style expert said: “It is safe to say that whenever we get to see Zara Tindall outside of her equestrian clothes, we get some serious fashion moments.

“It would seem that Zara is a big fan of the shirt or collared dress. Paired with her trusty espadrilles at Wimbledon in 2021, in a polka dot style when attending Easter service in 2022, a light pink look worn at ‘Ladies Day’ at the Royal Ascot in 2022 and in a coat dress version at King Charles’ Coronation in 2023, it would seem that Zara is a fan of a trusty collar.

“An elegant and timeless look, this neckline of choice embodies Zara’s signature style that mixes feminine and masculine.”

Espadrilles has long been adored by the royal women during the summer months.

The shoe style is perfect for the warm weather and can be worn in formal and informal occassions.

Ms Watkins said: “When it comes to her wardrobe essentials, it seems that Zara is a huge fan of the espadrille.

“Seen wearing this shoe style at Wimbledon in 2021, 2022 and in 2023 – it seems that this summery item is a staple in Zara’s warm-weather wardrobe.

“Striking a perfect balance between formal and informal, this shoe elongates her legs and looks great with midi dresses, which is the length that we often see Zara in.”

Princess Anne’s daughter is known for her fun and daring colour choices when it comes to fashion but it seems there’s one particular colour that she favours the most.

According to the stylist, hot pink enables Zara to “show off her sense of fun and femininity”.

She said: “When it comes to colour, Zara isn’t afraid to be bold, with one of her favourite hues being hot pink.

“Sometimes used as a ‘pop of colour’ to brighten up an outfit, like we saw in her hat of choice at ‘Ladies Day’ at the Royal Ascot in 2022 or opting for a full hot-pink look, as we saw when she attended Easter Sunday in 2023 in a wool crepe number, in a belted number for the National Service of Thanksgiving for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 or recently, when husband Mike uploaded this photo to his Instagram, showing the couple showing off matching hot-pink golf outfits.

“It is quite clear that Zara loves hot pink and it sure does love her! Pairing perfectly with her blonde hair, Zara utilises this colour to show off her sense of fun and femininity.”

The royal is also known for regularly sporting beautiful headpieces when she makes an appearance.

Whether it’s hats, fascinators or intricate headpieces, Zara seems to be a pro when it comes to head gear.

Ms Watkins explained: “It would be hard to talk about Zara’s wardrobe staples without talking about her fantastic array of headwear.

“Due to her love of all things equestrian, Zara often attends many horse races throughout the year, sporting interesting and carefully considered fascinators and headpieces. We also have seen her in classic headbands, like at Prince Phillips Memorial service in 2022 and at the Cheltenham festival in 2020.

“More casually, Zara has been seen in baseball caps, for example, in Land Rover Gatcombe Horse Trials in 2019, at the Burnham Market International Horse Trials and in jaunty fedoras, at the Cheltenham Festival in 2023 and at the same event in 2018. Zara will often use headgear to show off her sense of style and add a point of interest to her outfit.”

The Princess Royal’s daughter is also regularly seen flaunting her trusty pair of sunglasses to make a statement.

According to the style expert, her love of casual style “is what makes her one of our favourite royals to emulate”.

She explained: “Although Zara has shown us that her formalwear is nothing to be sniffed at, her love of casual style is what makes her one of our favourite royals to emulate.

“One of the key pieces in her laidback wardrobe is her sunglasses. As her mother was also known for her own signature shades, it’s no surprise that sunnies are Zara’s accessory of choice. At the Jubilee Pageant, the Epsom Derby and the Royal Ascot in 2022, Zara wore a tortoiseshell-rimmed style from Illesteva. More recently, she opted for beige-rimmed SOEK sunnies when she and husband Mike attended the F1 Grand Prix in 2023 and again at Wimbledon of the same year.

“Zara uses sunglasses to bolster her ‘effortlessly cool’ vibe and by not opting for classic black rims, we see that her sunglasses are more than just an accessory – they are a statement.”
