After crew chief Jeremy Bullins parted ways with the Wood Brothers on Oct. 26, the team’s crew chief situation was up in the air for 2025.
On Wednesday, the storied organization put any worries to rest by announcing that veteran engineer Miles Stanley will be paired with driver Josh Berry for the 2025 NASCAR Series season in a campaign that signifies a fresh start for the organization.
With a new crew chief in Stanley, driver in Berry and team president in Jon Wood – who took over the position in April – the Wood Brothers are prepared to start anew after Harrison Burton’s frustrating three-year tenure.
Burton won the team’s 100th race at Daytona on Aug. 24 to clinch a playoff berth, but that’s been about the only positive for a driver that’s collected six top-10 finishes in 106 starts with the team.
After closing out the final two races of the 2024 season, Burton will begin to rebuild his career by dropping back down to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, while the Wood Brothers will enjoy a fresh start of their own.
Stanley may be a fresh face atop the pit box for WBR, but he’s a veteran of the garage area and does have prior crew-chief experience. His dynamic matches up with that of Berry, who as 34-year-old Cup Series rookie sets a fresh scene for the team while bringing plenty of driving experience and acumen to the table.
When the Wood Brothers No. 21 rolls into Daytona in February of 2025, there will be plenty of reasons for optimism.
