The 2024 Democratic National Convention is on the horizon, and several celebrities are expected to host the event. The four-day convention is set to take place from Monday, August 19, through Thursday, August 22, and multiple outlets reported that a handful of Hollywood stars will host the DNC, including a few Scandal alumni and multi hyphenate Mindy Kaling.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Kerry’s former Scandal co-star Tony Goldwyn will kick off night 1 of the DNC. Tony, 64, previously played the main role President Fitzgerald Grant III in the political-thriller series, which aired from 2012 to 2018. The actor is also known for his roles in the Divergent series, King Richard and in Law & Order.

For the second night of the DNC, The View co-host Ana Navarro will be hosting. Although she is a registered Republican, the 52-year-old TV personality has identified herself as a centrist and is an outspoken critic of Republican candidate Donald Trump.

According to an Instagram video she shared on Sunday, August 18, Ana explained “how much it means” to her to host the DNC.

“Look, I’m a little refugee girl who fled Communism, who fled Nicaragua at the age of 8, found freedom, found opportunity, found a home in America,” Ana said. “And for me to have the chance to stand on that stage and help my girl Kamala make history and become the Democratic nominee, it’s just such a mind-blowing moment.”

For night 3, Mindy, 45, will take the stage. The actress, comedian, writer and producer is known for her work in The Office, The Mindy Project and The Sex Lives of College Girls.

As for the last night of the convention, Kerry Washington will close out the convention on Thursday, which is also when Vice President Kamala Harris will formally accept her nomination for president. In Scandal, Kerry, 47, played the lead role of Olivia Pope, who must juggle her career and her relationship with President Grant.

Kerry has shared her support for Kamala, 59, throughout her campaign. After President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race in July, the actress tweeted that the 81-year-old Democrat “did a brave and bold thing.”

“I’m tremendously grateful for his years of service — and I am awed by his selfless leadership,” Kerry continued in her tweet. “Make no mistake. Our fight now remains EXACTLY the same. We must do everything we can to prevent another Trump presidency and an authoritarian government. @KamalaHarris can and will win this! I believe in her and I believe in us. Let’s gooooooooooooo!”
