Cars are killed off all the time. For the most part, their deaths are well deserved. They may be getting old, uncompetitive or no one is buying them anymore. But, sometimes cars face an unfair and premature death. They’re killed before their time, and that means they can’t reach their full potential. That idea is what has inspired today’s question.
I want to know what discontinued car model you think deserves another chance. What was a car that could really have been something great if it was given another generation? What car was killed off before it caught onto the mainstream? What car do you think deserves to once again be in showrooms?
To me, a really good example of this is the Chevy Volt. It got two generations, sure, but it was killed off before the whole plug-in hybrid thing really took off. I’ve even written about how automakers are just now catching up to what the Volt was doing back in the early 2010s. It’s an icon, if you ask me. If General Motors was really smart, it would 100 percent resurrect the Volt name and put it on a flagship plug-in hybrid car. It’s silly that they haven’t already – especially as the hype around all-electric vehicles starts to cool down.
Anyway, what do you folks think? Let me know down below what discontinued car you think deserves a second chance. If you’re feeling extra motivated, why don’t ya tell me how you’d bring it back? What would you change, and how would you make your choice better?
