In some ways, no two cars are the same, even if they are the same make and model. Personalization and customization are vital aspects of car ownership, transforming simple consumerism into something more meaningful. However, some modifications take things too far. Letting everyone own a car is yours is one thing. Blasting it in everyone’s face is another.
What car mod should be banned immediately? I can live with any car mod as long as it doesn’t endanger anyone else, including not blasting out their eardrums or blinding them. You’re not the only one on the road, buddy. I wouldn’t hesitate to scrap any road car with a bypass or any mod to put out deafeningly loud exhaust noise.
South Carolina chose to go to war with the “Carolina Squat.” The state’s government moved to ban people from raising the front of their trucks and SUVs four or more inches higher than the rear end in November 2023. After the six-month grace period, there is now a four-strike policy. The first three offenses will only garner tickets, but a driver’s license will be suspended for the fourth “Carolina Squat” offense. And yes, people are still doing it, even on a Cybertruck.
