A guest has been left stunned over a bizarre text message they received inviting them to a friend’s wedding.
The wedding guest posted the strange text message invitation to Reddit and the internet was left shocked.
The text said: “We happily invite you and a guest to attend The Black-Tie Event of the Fall”.

Then came the stranger details of the message, “A few things to know. Respectfully this is an Adults only reception.”
“For drinks, this will be an open bar reception with ‘His & Her’s’ batched drinks and a selection of beer and wine.”
“For food, we will be providing light snacks only. This would provide you and your guest with the perfect opportunity to do an elegant evening dinner in our beautiful downtown with endless options before attending the reception.”
The wedding guest’s post garnered more than 400 comments and people were left in disbelief.
“Being invited to a black-tie event over text? And this is just a reception invitation, not the actual wedding? And they’re not providing actual food?” Asked one.
“Seems weird to cheap out on things like invitations and dinner but then ask people to dress black tie. Like it’s both casual yet not at all.” Said a second.
“RSVP: Decline, I can drink beer in my evening gown at home without the presence of these people,” added a third.
“’The perfect opportunity to do an elegant dinner in our beautiful downtown with endless options.’ The bride or groom must work in marketing, as they’re trying to put a positive spin on that dinner is on your own.” Added another.
