Watch Ryan Tuerck Drift The Crap Out Of A Vintage Toyota Truck At Goodwood Festival Of Speed

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a hillclimb event founded over 30 years ago that takes place in West Sussex, England every summer. Goodwood isn’t known for being a particularly rowdy automotive event, in fact the website recommends “smart casual” as the dress code, but that didn’t stop New Hampshire–born pro drifter Ryan Tuerck from annihilating the rear tires of his 600-plus-horsepower 1966 Toyota Stout 1900 pickup truck as he slid around the course.

This custom truck was built for the 2022 SEMA show, based on a rare vintage Toyota truck that was only offered between 1964 and 1967 and experienced weak sales numbers during its run. Not much is left of the original Stout aside from the cab, the top portion of the dash, and a few other bits. Regardless of how much is original or not, the front end and overall body are reminiscent of the classic mini truck, and that’s all that matters. It’s powered by a positively maniacal turbocharged Toyota four-cylinder engine that’s a bit of a mashup of different parts from different Toyota engines.

But that’s enough yapping out of me; all that matters is if it lights up the tires. And it sure as hell does. Watch this tiny beast of a 60-year-old mini truck show the Brits how to drift.
