Call of Duty Warzone’s first season is about to get Reloaded, as Activision adds new content and features to Urzikstan. As we hit the halfway point of Warzone Season 1, Activision is getting ready to release a major new update for Call of Duty. Warzone Season 1 Reloaded has a January 17 release date and a 5pm GMT UK launch time on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. Fans will need to update the game in order to access the new content and continue playing. Keep checking back for the full list of patch notes ahead of the Season 1 Reloaded launch.
Despite the lack of patch notes at the time of writing, Activision has revealed some of the new features coming to Warzone.
Arguably the biggest of all is the addition of the Covert Exfil secondary win condition.
The new feature gives five players the opportunity to exfil matches early, albeit at a high cost before the Gulag closes.
Activision explains more: “Covert Exfil calls in a helicopter that can fly any player out of the match, ideally with the Weapon Case in their possession.
“Players can also compete to earn the most successful Covert Exfils with the new Covert Exfil leaderboard stat.”
The aforementioned Weapon Case is another new feature coming to Warzone Season 1 Reloaded. According to Activision, one Weapon Case will spawn in a small search area at the start of every match.
If you win/Exfil with the Weapon Case still in your possession, you’ll unlock an exclusive reward. Unfortunately, however, the person/squad with the Weapon Case will be marked on the map for all opposing players to see.
Fans will also be pleased to hear that the Champion’s Quest will finally make its debut in Urzikstan as part of Season 1 Reloaded.
One for elite squads only, Champion’s Quest is described as a “high-level task that will test all your squad’s collective skills”.
In order to progress in the Champion’s Quest, teams are tasked with winning 30 games within a season, or five consecutive matches. Additional steps will be revealed in due course.
Elsewhere, Activision plans to hold a special public event in the Gulag. As part of the NVG event, players will be forced to fight in the dark, using night vision goggles to help win the skirmish and return to the match.
The Reloaded update will also introduce a couple of new weapons, plus a selection of item shop bundles based on Amazon show The Boys.
