According to press release, a brand-new bunch of faces will step into the limelight as servers, hosts and bartenders at Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurants SUR and TomTom.
“The last 12 years of filming have been an extraordinary run full of laughter, tears and everything in between,” Vanderpump, 64, said in the release (per PEOPLE). “I can’t thank enough those who have shared their lives. How I love you all. In the restaurant business, one shift always gives way to another. Cheers to the next generation of Vanderpump Rules.”
The wildly popular series debuted in 2013 as a spinoff to The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. It followed the personal lives of select staff at Vanderpump’s West Hollywood dining establishments.

“They’re 20-something and they’re young and they’re hot,” said Vanderpump of the cast in an interview ahead of the series premiere. “They want to play and they’re waiting for their dream and unfortunately their dream isn’t really to work at my restaurant.”
Over the years, the cast, which included Tom Schwartz, Tom Sandoval, Lala Kent, Katie Maloney, Ariana Madix and Rachel Leviss, among others, became stars in their own right. But in 2023, the series made headlines when three of its biggest names — Sandoval, Madix and Leviss — became involved in a cheating scandal that became known as “Scandoval.”
Sandoval and Madix’s 10-year relationship came to an abrupt end when it emerged he was having an affair with Leviss.

After learning of her longtime partner’s infidelity, Madix entered a mental health facility as private details from her personal life played out in public.
Meanwhile, Sandoval and Leviss saw their secret relationship fall apart with the reality star becoming known as “the most hated man in America.”
Leviss did not return for Season 11 and Madix would only appear with Sandoval in group scenes.
When filming didn’t resume on a 12th season this past summer, fans speculated that the show had been cancelled. But Vanderpump denied the show was done telling E! News that they were just taking a break.
“Vanderpump Rules is on hiatus just for a little bit,” she said. “Let it breathe. I think we were going around in circles for a little bit.”
After the news broke that the show will be getting a makeover, some of the old Vanderpump cast members took to social media to share their thoughts on being replaced.
“I’m feeling at peace with closing this chapter and I’m excited for everything that is to come,” Madix posted on Instagram. “I don’t know that these were the best days of our lives, but they were definitely something special.”

“I was a young girl from Salt Lake City who made her way to L.A. I would introduce myself as Lauren, but because my childhood best friend referred to me as Lala, my nickname quickly stuck,” Kent wrote in an Instagram post. “Sur was a place that became home. I found myself not only sipping on vodka sodas there, but behind a hostess stand… it still to this day is the most intimidating job I’ve ever had. A short time later the opportunity to be on a show called Vanderpump Rules landed in front of me.”
Maloney, who had been on the show since its start, said she had a “mixed bag” of emotions after learning the news that she won’t be back.
“Thank you for the memories and the love the last 11 years,” she wrote on Instagram.
Further details on the new cast as well as a premiere date for Season 12 of Vanderpump Rules are expected to be announced next year.
