Over in Ravello, Valentino-red parasols and beach-changing rooms have taken over. The cliff-side pool deck of the Palazzo Avino resort has become the seaside destination of the Valentino Escape pop-up, which celebrates the Italian house’s resort 2023 collection. The photogenic Italian pop-up has taken Instagram by storm, and over this weekend, Long Island got a taste of the magic—if only for an afternoon.
In the town of Bridgehampton at the picturesque home of Maria and Ken Fishel, Valentino brought their Valentino Escape collection—and those much-photographed parasols and beach loungers. The well-dressed couple generously opened up their property for the occasion. Notable guests such as Emma Roberts, Candance Bushnell, Coco Bassey, Charlotte Groeneveld, and Sarah Hoover were among the guests in attendance, and most everyone wore pieces that swirled in rainbow Valentino logos (the Valentino Loop) or the elegant black and white panther print (a reinterpretation of a version from the archives) that features in the collection.
Guests arrived to a cocktail hour hosted on the Fishel’s lawn; a pool house served as a makeshift boutique with an assortment of the capsule collection, which draws heavy inspiration from vintage Valentino, reimagining iconic pieces for the present-day jet set. Cocktails in hand, partygoers shopped. “I would wear everything here,” Roberts announced as she perused the collection alongside her boyfriend Cody John.
The sun rays (it was a balmy day) tempted everyone underneath the tent for a seated lunch of Branzino and pesto pasta. Bridgehampton (and its neighboring towns) encourages lingering lunches and lazy afternoons, and that’s how the rest of the day was spent. After dinner plates were cleared, guests continued chatting—about the astoundingly beaded jeans Kaia Gerber donned on the recent Valentino Couture runway, about the best places to get a lobster roll. Several conversations turned toward the rest of summer’s plans. A few party guests would end up in Italy; thankfully, after a quick trip to the pool house, they could have just the things to wear on holiday.
