USA adds Tortorella, Quinn to coaching staff for 4 Nations Face-Off

Team USA has rounded out its coaching staff for the 4 Nations Face-Off in 2025.

USA Hockey announced Wednesday that John Tortorella and David Quinn will join John Hynes as assistant coaches for the 2025 U.S. Men’s National Team under head coach Mike Sullivan.

Sullivan was announced as USA’s head coach for both the 4 Nations Face-off and 2026 Milan Olympics back in May.

Tortorella, head coach of the Philadelphia Flyers, and Quinn, an assistant coach for the Pittsburgh Penguins, bring over 60 years of combined coaching experience.

Quinn will be a familiar face for Sullivan, the head coach of the Penguins.

“We’ve got a highly accomplished coaching staff leading our team and we couldn’t be more excited about the group,” said Bill Guerin, general manager of Team USA for the 4 Nations Face-Off, in a news release. “Their experiences — both unique and shared — will be a big benefit to our country as we look to bring home a championship come February.”

According to USA Hockey, the four coaches have collectively been involved in 26 major international tournaments. This includes the IIHF Under-18 Men’s World Championship, IIHF World Junior Championship, IIHF Women’s World Championship, IIHF Men’s World Championship, World Cup of Hockey and Olympic Winter Games.

The 4 Nations Face-off will be held from Feb. 12-20, 2025, in Montreal and Boston, featuring teams of NHL players from Finland, Sweden, Canada and the U.S.
