Two victims injured in Trump rally shooting identified

(NewsNation) — Pennsylvania State Police have identified and released the names of three shooting victims who attended former President Donald Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Amid an attempt to assassinate Trump, Corey Comperatore, 50, was killed. David Dutch, 57, and James Copenhaver, 74, were also injured, according to police.

According to authorities, both men are in stable condition following their injures.

Comperatore, Dutch and Copenhaver all hail from Pennsylvania; Sarver, New Kensington and Moon Township, respectively.

The man accused of attempting to assassinate Trump, Thomas Crooks, 20, was killed by the Secret Service onsite.

“These victims and their families are certainly in our thoughts today,” Colonel Christopher Paris, Pennsylvania State Police Commissioner, said in a statement.

“The Pennsylvania State Police continue to work tirelessly alongside our federal, state and local partners as this investigation continues.”

President Joe Biden paid tribute to Comperatore, albeit not by name, during his Sunday afternoon press conference.
