The transit authority says, starting Monday, buses will no longer operate on Spadina Ave. between Front St. W. and Queen’s Quay W., Monday to Friday between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

During these hours, buses will turn left on Front St., right on Blue Jays Way and loop back to Spadina Ave. to travel north to Spadina Station.

Stops that will not be in service between those times include Spadina Ave. at Fort York Blvd./Bremner Blvd. and Spadina Ave. at Queen’s Quay W.

The new stop locations include the south side of Front St., east of Spadina Ave. for southbound buses and the north side of Blue Jays Way and Spadina Ave. for northbound buses.

The TTC says drivers will make announcements on southbound buses so customers are aware of the change.

The agency adds transit riders with mobility needs or anyone with strollers, packages or large bags needing assistance to travel south of Front St. should speak to a TTC employee at Spadina Ave. and King St., or Spadina Ave. and Front St.

Last month, the TTC began infrastructure upgrades along the route which necessitated the 510/310 Spadina streetcars being replaced with bus service.

Work includes overhead upgrades along sections of the Spadina streetcar right-of-way between Queens Quay W. and Spadina Station.

The TTC says it is also doing critical track renewal at Spadina Station as well as work to allow for a future platform extension to increase station capacity.

Work on the streetcar route is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
