The Pennsylvania McDonald’s where former president and current GOP nominee Donald Trump pulled a shift at staged a campaign photo op on Sunday has received fake negative feedback on the review website Yelp.
Comments posted in the wake of Trump’s visit to the restaurant in Feasterville, a suburb of Philadelphia, mocked his 2020 election loss, his wild talk about late golfer Arnold Palmer’s penis and his felony conviction.
The eatery was closed to customers for the publicity stunt. Trump worked the fryer and served food to drive-thru patrons who’d been vetted beforehand.
One review read, “Customer service was a joke. Senile old man got bronzer on my fries, didn’t wear gloves. Repeated himself several times, something about Ronald McDonald in the showers at the golf club? Idk.”
Another said, “The person who was at the drive through vaguely resembled someone who I saw on the news for being a convicted felon.”
A third wrote, “Free lies with every shake. You just don’t want to see who’s shaking. I asked for an Arnold Palmer. Old man told me I couldn’t handle it.”
And a fourth joked, “The fries were too salty as if someone who lost a major election had been crying over them for an hour.”
Yelp has now stopped new comments from being added to the business’ listing.
A pop-up box that appeared on Tuesday morning warned of an “unusual activity alert” on the page.
It read, “This business recently received increased public attention, which often means people come to this page to post their views on the news. While we don’t take a stand one way or the other when it comes to this incident, we’ve temporarily disabled the posting of content to this page as we work to investigate whether the content you see here reflects actual consumer experiences rather than the recent events.”
