Troye Sivan On Channeling a “Preppy Boy on Holiday” for His Miu Miu Debut

Paris Fashion Week came to a close yesterday with a final slew of hot-ticket shows including Chanel, Maison Margiela, and Miu Miu. The latter’s spring 2024 collection, from designer Miuccia Prada, brought out an A-list front row including Sydney Sweeney, Emma Corrin, and Paris Hilton—but the catwalk was just as starry. Notably, Troye Sivan hit the runway, alongside supermodels like Gigi Hadid. “I’ve always been a fan [of Miu Miu,]” he tells Vogue of the partnership. “I always feel very, very cute in the clothes, so it was a dream come true.”

Sivan’s appearance couldn’t come at a better time, as his highly anticipated album, Something To Give Each Other, drops next Friday. (Are you just obsessed with his new single, “Got Me Started,” as we are?). On the runway, the singer sported Miu Miu’s polo and dress shirt, styled with board-style shorts and boat shoes. “I felt like I’m a preppy boy on holiday, who’s just come back from the beach,” said Sivan of the look. “It felt very fresh.”

Sivan has been sitting on the front rows throughout Paris Fashion Week, at shows such as Loewe and Rabanne, but walking the catwalk was an entirely different experience. “It’s a whole different energy,” he says. “Backstage is one of the most manic environments that I’ve ever been in. But in a really inspiring way—you have dream collaborators like Guido Palau on hair and Pat McGrath on makeup. I literally said, ‘Whatever you want to do with me, just do it, please.’”

It wasn’t his first time appearing in a show, though: he made his true debut at Saint Laurent back in 2015, and walked again for Savage x Fenty in 2021. Would he strut for Miu Miu again next season, though, based on this latest experience? “I would do it again, yeah,” he says. “If they would have me!”
