Toronto man, 43, wanted after assault at Broadview Station

A 43-year-old Toronto man is wanted by police, who are investigating an assault earlier this month at a TTC station.

Toronto Police said TTC special constables were called to the Danforth-Broadview Aves. area on Dec. 4 after an assault at Broadview Station, where the victim was assaulted before having some of their personal property stolen and damaged.

The accused fled before police arrived.

Gerrard Purcell is wanted for assault, mischief under $5,000 and two counts of failure to comply with a probation order. He is 5-foot-7, 140 pounds, clean shaven and bald with a thin build and brown eyes.

TORONTO MAN CHARGED WITH SEX CRIMES

A 21-year-old Toronto man is facing sex offences after a female was assaulted last summer in Brampton.

Peel Regional Police said a female victim — a “young person” whose age was not given — conversed with someone using the name Jamal on a popular social media platform on July 20 before the two met in the Bovaird Dr.-Chinguacousy Rd. area of Brampton.

A sexual assault then happened inside a vehicle.

Jamal Douglas was arrested Wednesday and charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching.

Police said investigators believe there may be more victims.

INDECENT ACT ALLEGEDLY COMMITTED AT POOL

A 71-year-old Mississauga man is accused of committing an indecent act at an Etobicoke pool earlier this month.

Toronto Police said they responded to a report of indecent exposure Dec. 1 in the Kipling Ave.-Birmingham St. area, where the accused was allegedly seen performing an incident act at a public pool.

The accused had visited the pool “numerous times” between December 2022 and December of this year, police said.

William Whitman has been charged with an indecent act and four counts of failing to comply with a prohibition.
