To mark the occasion, TCR will be saving 150 homeless and at-risk cats. The felines will be collected from rural and First Nation shelter partners across Ontario.
Each of these cats will receive routine check-ups and much-needed medical treatment, often totalling thousands of dollars.
Volunteers will be on-site that day to make the process easier, after which GTA residents will foster the cats until they are ready for their forever home.
“Giving Tuesday allows us to transform the lives of cats in need,” said Nalini Ramroop, executive director, Toronto Cat Rescue, in a news release. “Every donation brings us closer to our goal of giving these animals a safe and loving home.”
Last year, TCR raised a record $112,000 through its Giving Tuesday program.
