TikToker Taylor Rousseau Grigg was ‘fighting for life’ before death

Taylor — who boasted over 1.4 million followers on TikTok — addressed her health issues in a video posted on Aug. 8 after some people said she “looks unhappy.”

“A girl said that I just looked like the life has been drained out of me. Honestly, for a time there, that’s true,” she shared in the TikTok video. “I feel like I’m fighting for life everyday. And when I didn’t necessarily know what was wrong with me, I’d be in bed in writhing in pain just wishing to be dead because I just wanted it to end and I don’t necessarily feel that way now.”

Taylor said it “sucks because I’m 24 years old” and added that it was a struggle “to live, to be here.”

“I should be in my prime, I should be able to carry my suitcase up the stairs, I should be able to walk to the mailbox, or run, and those are just things that I can’t really do right now,” she said. “When I was younger I was very athletic, I played all the sports … I could remember stuff really well … I’m not myself now.”

Taylor didn’t reveal what kind of illness she was battling, but told her followers she was “struggling with the fact that (her diagnosis was) a ‘forever thing.’”

Spokespeople for the Griggs family told TODAY.com that her organs will be going to children.

“We would love to share that Taylor’s organs will be donated to pediatric children,” representatives wrote in statement shared with the outlet. “Taylor would absolutely love to hear this as she has always loved helping others when she could.”

In his Instagram post, Taylor’s husband expressed his relief that his wife was “no longer in pain.”

“More than anything Taylor would want to know that she’s continuing to save people’s lives even after she’s gone from this world,” he wrote. “And even though her earthly body may have failed her, her memory and life will be carried on forever. She doesn’t owe anyone, anything. But she would want everyone to know that she’s more than OK.”
