This JDM Toyota Corolla Pickup Conversion Is Definitely Something You Should Go Buy

Modern pickups, even “midsize” ones, are massive. The Chevy Colorado is 6.1 inches longer than it was just over a decade ago, and a new Ford Ranger is just over 15 inches off a F-150 Supercrew from 20 years ago. And the compact truck as we knew it barely exists anymore; sure the Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz are around, but even they are too big for some. If you find yourself in the market not only for a compact truck, but for something truly special, check out this custom modified JDM Toyota Corolla.

The Corolla was never offered as a pickup from the factory, so someone went out of their way to create this Corolla pickup that’s currently for sale at Japan Car FL. The donor car was a 1996 Corolla Sprinter, which we received in the U.S. as the seventh-generation Corolla.

The dealer says the conversion was done in Japan using what looks to be a bed from a fifth-gen Toyota Hilux. Other than the pickup conversion, the rest of the trucklet is stock, right down to its 1.6-liter inline-4 and manual transmission. It’s also right-hand drive because, of course, it’s from Japan.

Whoever owned this Corolla actually used it, as it has 147,000 miles on it. Don’t let that scare you off, though, as this thing is likely bulletproof and it looks to be in pretty decent condition. The dealer says it has a clean title, and best of all, it’s cheap. Japan Car FL is only asking $9,500 for this unique piece of kit. If you’re interested, you better act fast. Between the ever increasing prices and sizes of modern pickups, and this Corolla’s reasonable price and rarity, this thing should sell quickly.
