Maryland Del. Teresa S. Woorman (D) swiftly confirmed she’s a “childless cat lady” after her viral, on-camera appearance following Oprah Winfrey’s swipe at Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) on Wednesday.
Winfrey, in a speech at the Democratic National Convention, noted that we are “not so much different from our neighbors” and will “do the best we can to save them” when their house is on fire before hitting back at the controversial remarks from Donald Trump’s running mate.
“And if the place happens to belong to a childless cat lady —,” said the media mogul, who took a pause as the Chicago crowd applauded her.
The DNC broadcast then cut to Woorman, who was seemingly unaware she was being filmed, in a move that left social media users with questions.
“Why’d they zoom in on that girl when they got to the cat lady part though? 😂” wrote one user.
“Justice for her!” wrote another user on X.
But the Maryland delegate, a self-described Swiftie since 2007, appeared to have no bad blood over the decision to cut to her.
“Damn right this childless cat lady is 100% disgusted by J.D. Vance in general and 100% behind @KamalaHarris and @GovTimWalz!” Woorman wrote.
She continued, “Also I may be childless but I do hope that’s not a permanent condition, thanks!”
Woorman added that she was recently appointed to a legislative seat and was sworn in to the Maryland House of Delegates last week.
“And I referred to myself as a childless cat lady during my remarks,” she wrote. “But I’m in good company, @taylorswift13 @Oprah. 💙💪🏼🐱 #voteblue.”
