The best Marvel game is free to download and keep – no strings attached | Gaming | Entertainment

Epic Games is giving away another high-profile release as part of its annual Mega Sale promotion. While Epic customers can redeem a free game every week, recent giveaways have been of the triple-A variety. And the latest free game is no different, as Marvel’s Midnight Suns joins the line-up. All you have to do is visit the store page, login to your account and redeem the game at no cost. It’s then yours to download and keep forever – no strings attached! Developed by the team behind the excellent XCOM Enemy Unknown, XCOM 2, Civilization 6 and 2004’s Sid Meier’s Pirates, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is not your average superhero game. Similar to the aforementioned games, Marvel’s Midnight Suns is a turn-based strategy game with deck-building elements. It has an impressive 83% rating on Metacritic, not to mention a ‘Very Positive’ user rating on Steam. You’ll need to hurry, however, because MMS is free from now until 4pm BST UK time on June 13. It will be replaced by the superb Redout 2.

Midnight Suns features a unique story written exclusively for the game, as well as a fully customisable hero for players to control.

Your character will work alongside famous faces from the Marvel universe, utilising established abilities to defeat enemies and secure objectives.

You’ll also need to use the environment to your advantage, using obstacles as cover, or as means of dishing out extra damage.

Combat encounters represent only half of the game, with players spending just as much time forging relationships and discovering new abilities during downtime at their hideout.

Epic explains more: “Spend time exploring what Super Heroes do in their off hours. Explore The Abbey—your very own mystical secret base—to discover powerful hidden items and secrets to aid you in the conflict against Lilith and her minions.

Befriend and get to really know some of your favourite Marvel heroes as you interact with them in ways beyond the comics or the films.”

Epic’s free game giveaway will continue next week when Redout 2 joins the line-up, also as part of the Mega Sale.

The sale includes discounts on hundreds of games, including EA Sports FC 24 for £11.99, Alan Wake 2 for £31.99, and Hogwarts Legacy for £24.99.

Elsewhere, high-profile Rockstar releases are available in the sale, with Red Dead Redemption 2 discounted to £23.99 and Grand Theft Auto 5 reduced to £14.99.

Other triple-A discounts include Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition for £43.54, Dead Island 2 for £24.99 and Assassin’s Creed Mirage for £22.49.

Lord of the Rings Return to Moria is reduced to just £13.85, Brothers A Tale of Two Sons Remake is £10.71 and Pacific Drive is £19.99.
