Colors! Patterns! Texture! The best dressed stars of the week chose statement designs that grabbed the eye, using the red carpets as a a place to experiment with style. There was no understated minimalism or quiet luxury here: Hollywood stars embraced the power of maximalist fashion instead.
At the Dior show in Scotland, Jennifer Lawrence channeled mob wife style in a leopard print coat and flared jeans. (Someone’s not ready to shed their outerwear for summer.) In New York City, Jodie Turner-Smith also pulled off a high-octane print in a multicolor Balmain dress; The vibrant pattern, complete with flamingos, was both whimsical and party-ready. Another pattern at play? Olivia Cooke’s bright red Chanel skirt suit, which featured a discreet floral print on the lapels.
Glitzy sequins also shined in interesting ways this week. At the premiere of House of the Dragon in New York City, Emma D’Arcy chose a Celine menswear suit covered in black sequins. At a Michael Kors event in Los Angeles, Kerry Washington also wore the designer’s brown lace slip dress, punctuated with a brown sequin robe jacket. (PJs—but them chic.)
