When it comes to unexpected shoe trends, Crocs has the mass market corned. And the high-fashion scene too, thanks to a slew of gasp-worthy designer collaborations. The latest: a lavishly embellished link up with Simone Rocha. On April 10, the unlikely duo prove that opposites do attract with a three-piece launch that includes updates on the clunky classic clog, the Quicktrail sneaker, and the Siren platform mule. While the comfortable signature silhouettes remain the same, Simone Rocha’s DNA is infused throughout each style with clusters of pearls, crystals, and beads strategically crafted into the shape of flowers. Think of it as an ugly-meets-pretty match made in heaven—with prices ranging from $175 to $275.
The delightfully strange combination works and has many excited. Julia Fox dramatically typed, “Neeeeeed” under the comments of a Simone Rocha Instagram post. While Rowan Blanchard dropped the heart eyes emoji. Even Vogue Mexico’s Karla Martinez de Sala, shouted, “Can’t wait!”
As expected, the collaboration will probably sell out quickly. But, of course, there are many more Crocs to shop.
