Tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas has sent fans and peers into a total spin with a mesmerising message to retiring legend Rafael Nadal.
Tributes have been flowing for the much-loved Nadal since he announced his sad news on Thursday night.

But none have been more elegant than the one written by Tsitsipas on Instagram, which had more than 63,000 likes in a matter of hours.
“As I hung the poster of Rafael Nadal on my wall, it wasn’t just a picture… but a reminder that dreams can take flight,” Tsitsipas wrote, while posting a photo gallery of himself with Nadal.
“I spent countless nights dreaming of emulating his legacy, driven by his relentless spirit and unmatched passion for the game.
“Today, as he steps away from the court, I can’t help but reflect on the surreal moment I faced him, a dream transformed into reality.
“His journey taught me that greatness isn’t just about victories; it’s about resilience, humility, and the courage to chase your dreams against all odds.“Ultimately, Rafa’s journey inspires us to chase our dreams with tenacity, to embrace challenges with grace, and to always play with our hearts.“Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the pure joy you’ve brought to the sport Rafael Nadal.”
The eloquent message blew the minds of fans and was instantly liked by Novak Djokovic and many more stars.
“Nice words. U can leave the tour and be a writer. Think u will do better :-),” one fan quickly suggested.
“Perfect words! Well said 🔥🚀👊🏼,” another said
And another: “I’m still crying 😭❤️🩹 such a beautiful words ❤️🩹.”
Many other legends have also paid tribute to Nadal.
Nadal’s great rival Roger Federer said: “What a career, Rafa! I always hoped this day would never come. Thank you for the unforgettable memories and all your incredible achievements in the game we love. It’s been an absolute honour!”
While Aussie star Nick Kyrgios begged Rafa not to retire.
“I wanna play you 1 last time,” Kyrgios said on X (formerly Twitter).
“Damn. I’ve had nightmares that have woke me up about Rafa. I’m gonna miss them. This was someone that I used to prepare for. He was a motivation – I guess an inspiration. F*** – it’s true – people do bring the best out of you. You were one of those people.
“We had our differences but you were one hell of a warrior. Best wishes and good luck with whatever comes next.”
Rod Laver said: “Another tough one. Retirement is inevitable but I’m going to miss watching this bloke fighting for every point like no other.”
