The boy was trapped for a short time before being freed by paramedics and raced to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.

Sunrise reporter Liam Tapper was at the scene on Friday morning.

“The Holden Captiva you can see on the right. That is the car he was driving. Look at the damage,” Tapper said.

“He’s ran into a ute that you can see being towed away along with that small Nissan, the orange Nissan as well.

“Gives you an idea of the speed he must have been travelling at to do so much damage.

“Police told us earlier he may have been travelling in a family car. There was also no one else in the car, just the 14-year-old in this car.

“I’m told he’s in a serious condition with injuries can to both his head and his arms.

“These cars are being taken away right now.

“They want to clean this street up as quickly as possible and open this street up for residents as quickly as possible,” Tapper said.

Police are investigating the incident.
