Golden Globes: Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez talk at awards show
Taylor Swift fans: It has finally happened. The Anti-Hero star just confirmed the existence of her new album: The Tortured Poets Department.
This record will be her 11th original studio album, but follows a string of remade records, the latest being 1989 (Taylor’s Version).
The Tortured Poets Department will no doubt delve into the drama and lustre of Taylor’s last few years of life – including her break up from fiancé Joe Alwyn.
Taylor announced the album while on stage receiving her latest Grammy Award for Best Album overnight.
She told the live audience: “Hey, this is my 13th grammy. My lucky number. I don’t know if I’ve ever told you that.”

Taylor Swift confirmed her new album, The Tortured Poets Club, will be released April 19 at the Grammys
Taylor went on: “I wanna say thank you to the members of the Recording Academy for voting this way. But I know that the way that the Recording Academy voted is a direct reflection of the passion of the fans.
“So I wanna say thank you to the fans by telling you a secret that I’ve been keeping from you for the last two years, which is that my brand new album comes out April 19th. It’s called The Tortured Poets Department, and I’m going to go and post the cover right now backstage. Thank you. I love you. Thank you.”
She kept her word, and proceeded to post the cover with the caption: “All’s fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19.”
The April 19 album will – for now – be released exclusively from her website.
