Suspects are sought after a failed armed carjacking in Vaughan.

York Regional Police said officers responded on Thursday at about 1 a.m. to a carjacking in the Jane St.-Exchange Ave. area.

Police said the victim had just parked his vehicle when he was approached by two suspects, one of them armed with a gun. The accused were unable to locate the key for the victim’s vehicle and left in a white sedan, which was operated by a third suspect.

The victim was not seriously injured.

The first suspect is described as a Black male. He was wearing a black windbreaker, black pants, white sneakers and a white balaclava and was carrying a firearm.

The second suspect was described as a Black male. He was wearing a black Nike hooded sweatshirt, grey sweatpants, black sneakers and a black balaclava.

The third suspect remained in the vehicle and no description is available.

Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to come forward and would like to speak with anyone who may have video surveillance or dash-cam footage in the area at the time of the incident.

HALTON COPS CHARGE T.O. MAN FOR OAKVILLE BREAK-IN

A 21-year-old Toronto man has been charged and two others remain outstanding after a break-in at an Oakville home.

Halton Regional Police said the incident happened on April 28 at about 2:30 a.m. Three masked suspects allegedly broke into a home on Pinehurst Dr. and used a rock to smash a glass door at the front of the home.

Investigators said they believe the suspects were targeting the keys to a vehicle parked in the driveway of the home, however, they were unable to locate them and fled in a previously stolen vehicle.

The residents were home at the time of the break-in and were not physically injured.

Police located the getaway vehicle abandoned later that same day in Toronto, and after a lengthy investigation identified a suspect.

On Thursday, Halton police executed a search warrant at a residence in Toronto and arrested one of the three suspects.

Shahfaisal Qureshi has been charged with break and enter, disguise with intent, and possession of property obtained by crime.

WOMAN SHOT, CRITICALLY INJURED IN AJAX

A 30-year-old woman was in critical condition after being dropped off at an Ajax hospital suffering from a gunshot wound.

Durham Regional Police said officers responded on Thursday at about 3:15 a.m. to Lakeridge Health Hospital after receiving reports that a wounded female was dropped off.

Police said the woman has since been taken to a Toronto-area hospital where she remained in stable but critical condition.

BOY, 17, ACCUSED OF UTTERING THREATS NEAR CHRISTIE PITS

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after allegedly threating bodily harm last weekend near Christie Pits.

Toronto Police say, on Sunday at approximately 10:30 p.m., the victims were standing in their garage that faced a laneway in the Shaw St. and Bloor St. W. area.

Police allege the suspect engaged them in conversation. When the victims ended the chat, the suspect threatened to sexually assault the female victim.

The suspect then charged towards the victims who retreated into their residence, cops say.

The suspect remained at the front of the house before leaving the area on foot northbound on Shaw St.

On Friday, the boy, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was arrested and charged with uttering death threats and uttering threats of bodily harm.

WITNESSES, VIDEO FOOTAGE SOUGHT IN BRAMPTON FAIL-TO-REMAIN

Witnesses and video footage are sought in a fail-to-remain investigation involving a 17-year-old teen being struck while trying to change his tires on the side of a Brampton road.

Peel Regional Police said a collision happened on July 5 at approximately 10 p.m. in the Countryside Rd.-Fernforest Dr. area. The teen was trying to change his tires when he was struck by a vehicle which was last seen driving eastbound on Countryside Dr. towards Bramalea Rd.

The victim sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local trauma centre.

The vehicle in question is a silver-coloured 2001-2005 Honda Civic sedan. A right-side mirror associated with the vehicle was recovered at the scene. A similar vehicle with severe right front-end damage shortly after the crash was also seen in the Abitibi Lake Dr.-Appleaire Cres. area of Brampton.

Investigators are appealing for anyone in the area who witnessed the collision, have dash-cam footage, or are from vehicle repair centres that may have any information on the suspect or suspect vehicle to call investigators at 905-453–2121, ext. 2133.
