During one live cross on a Melbourne tram at 6.40am, Sam approached a string of passengers for live on-air interviews.

While some were happy to chat about their mornings and say hello, others weren’t as keen.

“I mean, the friendliness just oozes out of every passenger as you walk along,” Sam joked as one passenger declined to speak on camera.

Some commuters quickly exited the tram, prompting an amused reaction from hosts Nat and Shirvo.

“That guy is like ‘Get him away from me!’” Nat joked.

“What a pest!” Shirvo added.

Nat added: “People need a coffee before they start.”

“Did you see them rushing off the tram?” Shirvo commented. “Like there were 25 people who saw him and ran.”

Nat then shared this apology.

“We are sorry Melbourne that we’ve inflicted Sam Mac on you this morning!” she said.
