NEW YORK (WPIX) — Trying to listen to a podcast or some Sunday morning songs, but Spotify won’t load for you? You aren’t alone — thousands have reported problems accessing the app, according to Downdetector.
Just after 11 a.m. ET Sunday, over 12,000 people reported Spotify was not working properly.
Reports of an outage have kept climbing and exceeded 40,000 shortly after noon.
Problems were reported on both the app and website. Users on social media said songs would not play past a couple of seconds.
According to Downdetector, the most user-reported issues are coming from New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Atlanta, and Minneapolis.
Spotify’s support team told users on social media to reinstall the app to resolve technical issues. Other users on X have been asked to try using a different network or to log out and log back in.
“Our developers are looking into this as we speak,” Spotify’s support team said in a separate post. “Hopefully we’ll have a fix soon!”
In a post to its community blog, Spotify acknowledged reports of its service being “down across platforms,” adding that “the Support Site looks affected as well.”
“We’re currently aware of the situation and the relevant teams are working on it,” the post continued.
Spotify also had issues with its website and app on Friday but did not provide any details on what sparked those problems.
