Snow has fallen on Queensland’s Scenic Rim and there were toboggan rides across the border in NSW on Tuesday too.
The operators of Spicers Peak Lodge in Maryvale, 130km southwest of Brisbane, said white powder fell across the resort for the first time in almost a decade.

“Snowfall! A few hours ago we were lucky enough to witness snow for a few minutes,” a post on the accommodation’s Facebook page said.
“The last time we experienced this was on July 17, 2015, almost exactly nine years ago.”
It comes as thousands of people were left without power after strong, icy winds brought down trees and powerlines across the state’s southeast.
Cliffside Brisbane restaurant Joey’s had to close as Mother Nature got the better of the venue.
“We regret to inform our wonderful customers we will be closed temporarily due to structural damage caused by the strong winds currently in Brisbane,” an Instagram post read.
“We are working very hard to reopen as soon as possible and apologise to anyone who has been inconvenienced by this.”
Snow also fell in Guyra, just over the border in NSW, where a “feels like” temperature of minus 11C was noted.
“I was hoping for a little bit more (snow) but my partner got to see snow on the ground for the first time so we’re happy,” Glenn Campbell, who made the six-hour trip from Buderim to Guyra on his birthday, told 7NEWS.
Others travelled to Mt Mackenzie near Tenterfield to see short flurries of snow.
The New England region of NSW and Queensland’s Granite Belt could receive a dusting of snow on Tuesday night.
The cold snap, which is set to last for a couple more days, has delivered an unexpected tourism boost, with accommodation in the rural town of Stanthorpe, in Queensland’s Southern Downs Region, close to being booked out over the coming days.
The winds should eventually ease on Friday, helping the temperature start to climb.
